NEW CANAAN, Conn. – The uniquely designed and aptly named “Round House” in Wilton, Conn. recently made its first TV appearance on the popular show “Open House New York” on NBC channel 4 in New York.
Floating 12 feet above the ground, this glass-and-steel structure rotates 360 degrees, capturing the surrounding landscape from unlimited angles: 40 acres of conservation land and two ponds on nearly four lush acres. Renowned as a dynamic combination of art, architecture and technology, the “Round House” was designed by Richard T. Foster, a famous architect and collaborator of Philip Johnson.
“It's truly a masterpiece that defies tradition – the beautiful vistas blend into the home’s interior,” said Brett T. Ciarlo, the 10-year real-estate broker with Barbara Cleary’s Realty Guild Inc. who represents this property. “Foster's vision was simply to live in a home and enjoy the panoramic views from every room – awake in the master bedroom to a sunrise, or enjoy cocktails in the living room overlooking a warm sunset.”
Ciarlo walked viewers through this one-of-a-kind property during the TV segment. To view the three-minute program online, visit link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid987655381/bctid1342089813.
